Councillor Alison Whiting
Rock View County Division 3
Thank you so much to everyone in Division 3 for coming out yesterday and casting a ballot. I am so honoured to represent Division 3 over the next 4 years. And the conversations don't end now, I will continue to listen, to learn, and to work alongside you to better serve our community every day.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me along this journey. A special thank you to my family and campaign team who worked tirelessly alongside me, I would not have been able to do it without their love and support.
I would also like to take a moment to thank Crystal Kissel for her leadership and dedicated service over the last 8 years.
Thank you once again for this incredible honour. I am excited for what’s ahead and for the opportunity to serve you all.
Why I Ran
Plan Smart, Protect Rural
I’m running to restore balance in how our County grows and operates. That means:
Putting residents and existing communities first again.
Using my policy background to ensure the County follows fair and transparent procedures.
Protecting our rural landscape and ag lands for future generations to come.
Taking back control of our water and curbing unnecessary cost increases.
Planning smarter for sustainable, rural-focused growth.
Bringing a modern, accountable, and forward-thinking approach to leadership.
It’s time for change

About Alison
I am a proud member of our rural community, deeply rooted in the values that make this area special — hard work, connection to the land, and looking out for one another. With years of experience living and working here, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities our community faces.
I'm running for councillor because I believe in protecting our rural way of life, listening closely to the voices of local residents, and serving with integrity and dedication. I know that smart growth means balancing progress with preservation, and that every decision must reflect the needs and wishes of the people who call this place home. My background in the public and private sector makes me a perfect candidate to do this.
I am committed to being a strong advocate at the council table — standing up against developments that threaten our landscapes and championing responsible planning that respects our heritage and environment. I believe that the future of our community depends on leaders who serve first, listen well, and protect what matters most.
When I'm not meeting with neighbours or reviewing community plans, I enjoy time outdoors camping with my young family, supporting local businesses and visiting our local farmers markets.
